Overview
This tour spends roughly six and a half hours working its way along Kauai's south and west sides with a guide and a maximum of 13 travellers, starting with a quick stop at Kauai Bakery before heading out to Spouting Horn. From there the route continues to Kauai Coffee Company and up into Waimea Canyon State Park, where the group gets an hour and a half at the lookout. The park entrance fee is covered in the ticket price.
After the canyon the tour drops down into Waimea town for a lunch break, then finishes with time in Hanapepe before returning. Lunch at Chicken in a Barrel is not included. Bottled water and a map of Kauai are provided, and the van is air-conditioned.
There is no hotel pickup. The operator runs two meeting points, one in Kapaa at 8:30am and one in Lihue at 8:50am, and texts guests the day before with details. Cruise passengers can be dropped at the port in the late afternoon, and the tour also works well as a first-day orientation, with one reviewer recommending it for exactly that reason.

What To Expect From The Tour
A few practical points shape the day, from the fixed meeting points to a firm weight limit on the van seats.
- Meeting points. Pickup is not included. Choose between the Kapaa and Lihue meeting points when booking, and expect a text from the operator the day before by 5pm. If it does not arrive, contact the operator directly, especially for last minute or international bookings.
- Pace and stops. Reviewers often describe the day as packed but unhurried, with enough time at each stop to look around.
- Weather. Rain and cloud are possible, and one reviewer said the group did everything on the itinerary and more despite unpredictable weather. Weather cancellations come with a different date or a full refund.
- Lunch and water. Bottled water is provided, but lunch is on you. The usual option is Chicken in a Barrel in Waimea, which is not included in the tour price.
- Kids and infants. The tour is pushchair accessible and one reviewer reported their teenager felt welcome and involved. Infant and toddler car seats are not provided, so bring your own if you need one.
- Weight limit. The listing states a firm limit: guests over 260 lbs must book a private tour instead. The operator says reservations that ignore this can be canceled or denied boarding without refund.
Common issues. The tour can be canceled or rescheduled if the minimum number of travellers is not met, and one reviewer reported being told their booking might not run for that reason despite holding a confirmation. The full refund window closes 24 hours before start time, and cruise passengers whose ship fails to dock get a 50% refund or a 12 month credit rather than a full one. There is no wheelchair access, the vehicles cannot stow wheelchairs or walkers, and the weight limit is strictly enforced.
Which Tour Matches Your Plans
Is hotel pickup included?
No. Pickup is not part of this tour. There are two meeting points, Coconut Market Place in Kapaa at 8:30am and Harbor Mall in Lihue at 8:50am. The operator sends a text the day before with your pick up details.
What is included in the price?
The Waimea State Park entrance fee, an air-conditioned vehicle, bottled water, and a map of Kauai. Lunch, gratuities, hotel pickup, and infant and toddler car seats are not included.
Where do we eat lunch?
The group stops in Waimea for about an hour and 15 minutes. Food is not included, and the listing suggests Chicken in a Barrel at the Waimea Plantation Cottages as the usual choice.
Can I join from a cruise ship?
Yes, and the operator can drop cruise passengers at the port in the afternoon. If the ship does not dock, the operator honors a 50% refund or a full credit usable within 12 months, which differs from the standard refund terms.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside 24 hours there is no refund and changes are not accepted. Weather or minimum-numbers cancellations come with an alternative date or a full refund.
Is it suitable for children or limited mobility?
Pushchairs are fine and service animals are allowed, but the vehicles cannot stow a wheelchair or walkers, so the tour is not wheelchair accessible. You must bring your own infant or toddler car seat. Guests over 260 lbs need to book a private tour instead.
